The Jean Cocteau Cinema is proud to present a special screening of a newly remastered print of Orville Wanzer’s 1965 horror Western "The Devil’s Mistress" featuring a Q&A with film scholar and documentarian Dr. Julia Smith and Teddy Gregory, one of the founding members of WGW productions and the only living cowboy from the cast. The recently digitized 16mm film reel, which had been preserved in the Rio Grande Historical Collections at NMSU, will be showcased for the first time ever in screenings across New Mexico. This event is a rare opportunity to experience a forgotten piece of New Mexico film history, and proceeds from the screenings will support Dr. Smith's archival advocacy efforts as well as her upcoming documentary, "Birth of the Acid Western".
